Genetics & Feedstocks

For commercial cattle breeders, our genetics offer grid-beating carcass performance and unequaled calving ease.

Breed your heifers to our Wagyu Bulls and A.I. sires and you may never
have to pull a calf again. With a cow herd of roughly three hundred head, we have never had to assist a single delivery of a calf sired by our Wagyu bulls. If you would like to worry less and get more sleep during calving season, give us a call.

In addition, a calf sired by a Wagyu bull will also earn a premium. Breeding to our Wagyu sires will also give you significantly increased carcass quality in the very first generation of calves. Marbling and tenderness are quite heritable traits that Wagyu bulls display in abundance. In addition, you will not pay for that quality with light calves at shipping time. Steady growth rates represent one of the key objectives of our breeding program. Although calving weights are light, by weaning time, Wagyu F1 calves are healthy, robust animals. If you want to take your carcass grades toward prime, or even beyond, give us a call.

For Wagyu breeders, our genetics are second to none.

We have both quality and breadth, allowing you to devise a fine and varied breeding program. Our genetics offer the opportunity to breed within and among the great Tajiri bloodlines as well as incorporate Fujiyoshi and Kedaka traits, such as growth rate, frame size and, our particular interest, greater milk production for strong, fast growing calves. We are working to develop these traits in our breeding animals, to produce valuable out-crosses for Wagyu breeders. You will also find these traits represented in the semen and embryos we have on offer.

At Savery Creek Cattle Company, we operate three distinct breeding programs.

While our Fullblood program may be the jewel in the crown, we have thriving Purebred and Percentage programs as well.

Fullblood Wagyu Program

A Fullblood Wagyu is 100% Wagyu. A fullblood’s parentage is independently verified through DNA testing and registered with the American Wagyu Association. Whether you seek the finest of fine dining or to improve the genetics and carcass performance of your herd, Fullblood Wagyu is as good as it gets. We sell Fullblood heifers and bulls, as well as semen and embryos. We also sell a limited but growing number of Fullblood steers.

Purebred Wagyu Program

These cattle range from 93.75% to 99.999% Wagyu. Most of our Purebreds are in the 99% range, as we always breed our Purebred cows and heifers to Fullblood Wagyu bulls. We produce Purebred Wagyu steers as well as naturally, humanely raised veal calves for fine dining. We also sell Purebred bulls to commercial cattle producers to make their heifers’ first calving an easy one and improve their percentage of carcasses grading high choice and prime.

Percentage Wagyu Program

Please e-mail or call if you are interested in F1 (50%) or F2 (75% Wagyu) calves for feeding. Our herd bulls are all Fullblood Wagyu, featuring the best Tajima bloodlines [link to bloodlines page], including sons and grandsons of Fukutsuru 068, Takazakura, Yasufuku Jr and others. Our non-Wagyu cow herd is almost entirely Black Angus and Angus/Wagyu F1 cows.

Semen and Embryos

All of our available semen is from registered, Fullblood Wagyu sires of the finest bloodlines. All semen we sell is CSS certified and shipped directly to you from the collection center. Additionally, we have Wagyu sires qualified for export to most international destinations. Please contact us for details and for pedigrees of available Wagyu sires. Semen prices start at $20 per straw.

Our embryos reflect carefully selected pairings of the finest Fullblood Wagyu sires and dams. All of our embryos produced for sale and export are flushed, collected, washed, prepared and frozen to international standard by a veterinarian who is also a highly experienced embryo transfer professional certified by the American Embryo Transfer Association. All of our embryos for export are flushed and prepared by our veterinarian at a facility that is regularly inspected and approved for export to virtually everywhere, including the European Union and the People’s Republic of China.

At Savery Creek Cattle Company, we believe that this strict, professional supervision of all aspects of the process, from donor nutrition and hormone therapy to embryo freezing and storage, makes for an exceptionally healthy and viable embryo program. We send you the finest embryos we can produce, and provide you with advice and support through the process of planning and preparing your embryo transfer project. The rest is up to you and your ET professional.
